School Background

Before the trificalization program  of the government, the Isabela School of Arts and Trades–TESDA has already become one of the premier institutions in Region 02 in terms of the skills acquired by its clienteles. The winning of the students internationally and locally together with its high percentage (85%) employability are proofs that the skills acquired are utilized to the fullest. The Dualized Training Program (DTP) also helped a lot only in the acquisition of skills but also in the molding of their character. Both the trainers and the trainees are developed socially by joining contest given by the Municipal and Provincial Governments of Isabela. Physically, they are much involved in the “Hataw” every Friday morning as well as in the construction of the road from the Administration Building to the main gate.

In addition, the Seek+Find+Train=Match Strategy of TESDA was introduced. The rationale behind this was to find out what job were needed by the industries in the area of coverage by the school. The procurement program of the school as regard the continuous upgrading of tools and equipment, the institution has purchased such materials as prescribed in the Training Regulations (TR’s) from every qualification offered by the school. The Central Office through its TESDP has also sent more of these kind to equip the Remaining Institutions (RI’s).

Moreover, the school has implemented the Competency Based Trining (CBT) for the trainees self-paced learning activities. It has also accepted PGMA and Tumauini Mayor Arnold S. Bautista scholoars. It became an Assessment Center for FAST. All its graduates starting CY 2007 were subjected to mandatory assessment.

At present the institution is manned by 51 teaching and non – teaching personnel headed by our Vocational School Superintendent Mr. Igmedio S. Casticon.
